Past Proof

The Pep Boys (PA)

A high-quality art print of a vintage 1950s matchbook from The Pep Boys, featuring the iconic trio: Manny, Moe, and Jack.

The Pep Boys was founded in 1921 in Philadelphia by Emanuel “Manny” Rosenfeld, Maurice “Moe” Strauss, W. Graham “Jack” Jackson, and Moe Radavitz. The name came from a policeman who recommended “the boys at Pep” for auto supplies, and the trio of Manny, Moe, and Jack became the face of the brand. Known for its full-service approach, Pep Boys offered both retail automotive parts and mechanical services, becoming one of the first national chains to do so.

By the 1960s, the company had expanded to over 100 stores nationwide. It became a staple for car owners looking for reliable maintenance, tires, and batteries. The company continued to grow through the 1980s and remains a recognizable name in the automotive industry today. Manny, Moe, and Jack are still used in the company’s branding, a nod to its early 20th-century roots and iconic founders.

Front and back designs are offered separately when available. Select your preferred side or pair them together.
